Grant County High School Concert Program

Symphonic Band
Grant County High School offers two Concert Ensembles that meet year-round during the school day.  The Grant County Symphonic Band is our top concert ensemble and most of the members are upperclassmen.  The Symphonic Band performs Grade 4-5 literature and has consistently received Distinguished Ratings at KMEA District Concert Assessment.  They perform four separate concert programs each year and have shared concerts with the University of Kentucky Symphony Band, The Fillmore Wind Band, and the Xavier University Wind Ensemble.
Concert Band
The Grant County Concert Band was established in 2015 and is primarily made up of underclassmen.  The Concert Band spends a great deal of time working on fundamentals of technique and music literacy so that these students can move up into the Symphonic Band as they progress through high school.  Performing Grade 2-3 literature, the Concert Band does 3 concert programs a year and received a Proficient rating at the 2017 KMEA District Concert Assessment.
Percussion Ensemble
The Grant County Percussion Ensemble meets every day during 2nd period and offers percussionists the opportunity to develop technique and perform on a wide variety of percussion instruments.  Members are in grades 9-12 and perform three concerts a year with an emphasis on chamber music for percussion ensemble.
